March 14, 2008

It's so hard to believe that I have an 18 year old daughter. What a fun journey it has been, well, most of it has been fun!! Time has gone by so fast. I remember when she was born and was such an adorable baby. She looked like a little indian baby with dark hair and dark eyes. I was so worried that I couldn't love another baby as much as I did Skyler, but then when I seen Whit I fell in love all over again. She has always been my beautiful little girl, only now she is all grown up. As we talk about her moving out and going away to college I get all choked up. It was so hard to have Skyler leave, but now to have Whit leave, it's killing me. Everyone tells me to enjoy the season that I'm in, but I am really having a hard time with this season in my life. I loved having a say in what my children were doing. We used to have so much fun together when they were all little. Now I have to learn to let them grow up and hope they have learned something that will help them along the way. I never dreamed being a mother would be so wonderful, stressful, exhausting, exciting, and all around fun!!! I am so grateful for this awesome opportunity to have the title of MOTHER. Any thoughts on how to cope with children leaving home would be appreciated. I look forward to lots of great advice from my friends and family. I hope you are enjoying this beautiful spring day, I sure am....

Your doing good Kellie, keep it up. I really enjoy ready and seeing your blog. You did a great job in church today. Great advise. Whitney is a beauty and also very beautiful inside. No advise from me though about how to let go. I'm still having a hard time and it has been 15 years!!

Ah Kellie, the fun is just beginning...wait til the sweet little grandkids start coming and the circle just keeps on going. Our Kai, Trey and little Dax have made up for the kids growing up and leaving us. Just like you thought you couldn't love another child more than your first. Your heart will overflow when the little grandkids come. Won't be long now, just you wait and see. I love you guys. Aunt Ruth
PS I love your blog.
